Line Tools
Standard Line (Alt + T)
Creates a straight line with three control points:
- Start point: Controls line origin
- End point: Sets line termination
- Middle point: Adjusts positioning precisely
Used for trendlines, support/resistance, and connecting chart points.
Arrow
Functions like a standard line but adds directional emphasis:
- Includes arrow pointer at endpoint
- Highlights directional movement
- Ideal for marking breakouts or trend direction
Ray
Line that extends infinitely in one direction:
- Has starting point and direction
- No endpoint (continues to chart edge)
- Perfect for ongoing trendlines
- Eliminates need to redraw as chart develops
Horizontal Ray (Alt + Shift + H)
Specialized ray that maintains horizontal orientation:
- Extends infinitely to the right
- Maintains consistent price level
- Excellent for support/resistance levels, targets, and stop levels
Specialized Lines
- Horizontal Line (Alt + H): Fixed price level with defined endpoints
- Vertical Line (Alt + V): Fixed time point with defined endpoints
- Cross Line (Alt + X): Creates intersection of horizontal and vertical lines
Parallel Channel (Alt + Shift + C)
Creates trading channel with parallel boundaries:
- Two parallel outer lines
- Optional middle line
- Adjustable angle and width
- Configurable to extend infinitely
