The Symbol Search lets you discover and add symbols to Watchlists without leaving the chart.
  • Navigate by keyboard, filter by asset class or source, and open charts instantly.
  • Add instruments to Watchlists in one click, or sort them into multiple lists with a double-click.
  • See all your Watchlists at the bottom of the search window and add to the active one with a shortcut.
There are two quick ways to open the search window:
  1. From the chart: click the instrument ticker icon shown on the chart (the symbol badge).
  1. Or simply start typing anywhere on the chart.
Then:
  • Start/Continue typing a ticker, company/asset name, or keyword. Results update instantly.
  • Use the asset-class tabs and All Sources to narrow results (details below).
  • Press Esc anytime to close the window.
Tips
  • If keyboard arrows don’t move the selection, click inside the search panel to restore focus.
  • To quickly add multiple symbols, select an active Watchlist at the bottom first, then use Shift + Enter as you browse.

Browse by Asset Class

Use the tabs to narrow results:
  • All, Funds, Equities, Crypto, Commodities, Forex, Bonds, Indices
What the tabs do:
  • Show only instruments in the chosen class.
  • Group related markets (e.g., Perpetual Futures, Delivered Futures, Spot).
  • Let you expand each group with Show more to see all available venues.

Sources (Exchanges & Venues)

Use All Sources to limit results by venue or data provider.
  • Click All Sources and pick a venue to compare the same instrument across exchanges.
  • In grouped results, click Show more to reveal every listing for that symbol (useful for futures and crypto).

Read a Result Card

Each result row includes:
  • Symbol & venue (e.g., BTC/USD.P · MEXC)
  • Instrument type (Perpetual Futures, Spot, Delivered Futures, etc.)
  • Last price and currency
  • Change (absolute and %) for quick sentiment
  • Add to Watchlist icon
  • Show more when multiple markets exist

Quick Actions & Watchlists

  • Add to default Watchlist: single-click the Add to Watchlist icon.
  • Choose another Watchlist / create new: double-click the icon to open extended options.
  • Active Watchlist bar: at the bottom of the search window, you’ll see all your Watchlists.
    • Click a list to make it active.
    • Press Shift + Enter to add the highlighted instrument directly to that active list while browsing.

Calculator: build a synthetic instrument

The calculator lets you chart an instrument that does not exist on any exchange: you write a formula over the prices of instruments that do, and the platform computes it as a synthetic instrument. A classic use is checking a cross rate against its direct market — ETH/BTC * BTC/USDT should track ETH/USDT, and the gap between them is what arbitrage is supposed to close. How to build one:
  1. Open search from a chart — the calculator button appears only there, because the chart is the only place a synthetic instrument can be displayed.
  2. Write the formula from the instruments you want, combined with arithmetic operators.
  3. Apply it, and the result is drawn on the chart like any other instrument.
Formulas are built on the price and volume of ordinary instruments, and a single formula uses a limited number of distinct instruments — repeating the same one costs nothing extra.

What works and what doesn’t yet

This is a first version, and it is deliberately narrow:
  • Chart only. Every other widget reports no data for a synthetic instrument.
  • Watchlists cannot hold a formula yet.
  • Notes are the exception among the widgets — a note can be attached to a formula.
  • Indicators show no data on a synthetic instrument, including ones already on the chart and ones you add from the IDE.
  • Volume-based chart types and the lowest timeframes are unavailable. Chart controls that a synthetic instrument does not support are disabled, with a tooltip explaining why; if you were already on an unsupported timeframe or chart type, the chart resets to a supported one and tells you so.

Keyboard Shortcuts

The search center is fully navigable by keyboard:
  • ↑ / ↓ — Move through results
  • Tab + Space — Jump to filters and toggle asset-class/source filters
  • Enter — Open the selected instrument on chart (Apply Selection)
  • Shift + Enter — Add the selected instrument to the active Watchlist
  • Esc — Close the search

Tips

  • Comparing venues? Use All Sources and Show more within a symbol group to see every market.
  • Building a thematic list? Pick the Watchlist first (bottom bar), then add with Shift + Enter as you browse.
  • Need faster symbol entry? Stay in the search window and use ↑/↓ + Enter to open, Shift + Enter to file to lists.

Troubleshooting

  • No results? Clear filters (asset class / source) and try a broader term.
  • Added to the wrong list? Check which Watchlist is active in the bottom bar before adding.
  • Keys not working? Click inside the search panel to restore focus, then use shortcuts.
