Trading Windows is a time zone-aware intraday session overlay that highlights Asia, London, and US market windows with configurable zone colours, optional boundary bars, and midpoint session labels. It includes DST auto time zone modes, weekday filtering, and a preset lock for standardized settings, helping traders quickly align price action with global liquidity cycles.

How To Use

  1. Add the indicator to an intraday chart.
  2. Select your preferred Time zone Mode.
  3. Choose whether to use the Default Settings (Preset Lock) on or off.
  4. If lock is off:
  5. Toggle session visibility per region.
  6. Adjust zone colors.
  7. Toggle weekdays-only, boundaries, and labels.
  8. If lock is on:
  9. Standardized defaults are enforced for consistency.
  10. Time zone mode remains user-selectable.

Customisable Zones:

  • Rename sessions if desired.
  • Edit start/end HHMM times.

Input Guide

  1. Timezone Mode:
  2. Defines the reference clock used by all session windows.
  3. Use Default Settings (Preset Lock):
  4. ON: standardized session behavior and visual defaults.
  5. OFF: full manual control.
  6. Show Session Zones:
  7. Master toggle for background shading.
  8. Show Session Boundary Bars:
  9. Master toggle for dashed vertical boundary outlines.
  10. Show Session Labels:
  11. Master toggle for midpoint labels.
  12. Weekdays Only (Mon-Fri):
  13. Filters sessions to weekdays.
  14. Most visible effect appears on weekend data.
  15. Per-session controls:
  16. Enable Asia/London/US Session
  17. Session Name
  18. Start (HHMM)
  19. End (HHMM)
  20. Zone Color

Best-Practice Presets

  1. Crypto:
  2. Timezone Mode: UTC
  3. Keep all three sessions enabled
  4. Weekdays only: off if you want full 7-day context
  5. Forex:
  6. Timezone Mode: Europe/London (DST Auto) or UTC
  7. Keep Asia/London/US all enabled
  8. Weekdays only: on
  9. US Equities focus:
  10. Timezone Mode: America/New_York (DST Auto)
  11. US session: 09:30 to 16:00
  12. Weekdays only: on

Important Behavioral Notes

  1. Weekdays-only toggle:
  2. With preset lock OFF, it follows your toggle.
  3. With preset lock ON, it is intentionally locked to weekdays only.
  4. DST and session interpretation:
  5. Session windows are computed in selected timezone mode.
  6. DST auto modes adjust offsets through the year.
  7. Timeframe scope:
  8. Intended for intraday use.
  9. Daily and higher timeframes are intentionally not shaded.
