A multi-layer momentum & confluence system for high-conviction timing

OVERVIEW

Micah's Oscillator is an all-in-one momentum oscillator that combines six classic edge-finding techniques into a single, color-coded pane — so instead of stacking five separate indicators and trying to read them at once, you get one clean picture that tells you direction, strength, agreement, exhaustion, volatility, and reversal timing at a glance.

It is built around a simple idea that experienced traders rely on: the highest-probability trades happen when multiple, independent signals line up ("confluence"). Rather than firing on any single trigger, Micah's Oscillator visually shows you when momentum, money flow, volatility, and price structure all agree — and filters out the noise when they don't.

WHAT YOU SEE ON THE CHART

Micah's Oscillator plots in its own pane below price and layers together:

THE SIX LAYERS, IN PLAIN ENGLISH

1) MOMENTUM WAVE — "which way, and how strongly?"The core of the indicator. A normalized momentum line that rises above the center when buyers are in control and falls below when sellers are. A signal line and a filled ribbon make the trend and its strength easy to read, and crossover/crossunder dots mark the moments momentum shifts gears.
Four interchangeable calculation engines let you match the wave to your style:• Stochastic-like (default) — responsive, great for timing.• Rate of Change — emphasizes the speed of a move.• Original — a smooth, regression-based read of price vs. its recent range.• Hybrid — a balanced blend of all three.

2) MONEY-FLOW CONFLUENCE — "is volume backing the move?"The oscillator is continuously compared against the Money Flow Index (a volume-weighted momentum measure). When price momentum and money flow agree, the corresponding band lights up bright — telling you the move has real participation behind it. When they disagree, the band dims, warning you the move may be hollow. This is your built-in confirmation filter.

3) REVERSAL SIGNALS — "is this move exhausting?"Major (X) and minor (O) markers flag potential turning points when three things coincide: a volume spike, the oscillator reaching an extreme, and money-flow confirmation. A built-in cooldown prevents signal spam, so you get clean, spaced-out alerts instead of clusters.

4) THE CAPITULATION FILTER — "is this a real climax, or just noise?"This is what separates Micah's Oscillator from a basic oscillator. Using the Williams Vix Fix (and its inverse), it measures genuine panic and euphoria. With the filter on (default), reversal signals only fire when the market is actually capitulating — a sharp panic flush for longs, or a blow-off top for shorts. The result: far fewer signals, but each one is backed by a real sentiment extreme. Turn it off if you want every raw reversal.

5) TTM SQUEEZE — "when is the next big move coming?"A single dot on the zero line tracks the volatility cycle. An orange dot means volatility is being compressed (a coiled spring — breakouts often follow). A cyan dot means the squeeze has fired and price is expanding. Pairing a squeeze release with a momentum-wave direction is a classic breakout setup.

6) DIVERGENCES — "is the trend lying to you?"The indicator automatically detects and draws divergence lines between price and oscillator pivots (switch this layer on in the Divergence settings):• Regular divergence (solid green/red) — a reversal warning. Price makes a new extreme but momentum doesn't follow, so the trend is running out of fuel.• Hidden divergence (dashed orange) — a continuation signal. A pullback that momentum confirms, so the existing trend is likely to resume. The line style tells you the meaning instantly: solid = "watch for a turn," dashed = "trend likely continues."

HOW TO USE IT FOR TRADING DECISIONS

Micah's Oscillator is designed to be read as a confluence checklist. The more boxes that line up, the higher the conviction. A practical way to use it:

Looking for a long (buy):
1. Momentum Wave turning up / bullish crossover dot fires.
2. The lower Confluence Band brightens (momentum + money flow agree).
3. A major (X) or minor (O) bullish reversal prints near the lower extreme (capitulation-confirmed).
4. Bonus conviction: a solid green (regular bullish) divergence line, or a cyan squeeze-release dot pointing into the move.

Looking for a short (sell):
1. Momentum Wave turning down / bearish crossover dot fires.
2. The upper Confluence Band brightens.
3. A bullish reversal's mirror image: a major/minor bearish marker near the upper extreme.
4. Bonus: a solid red divergence line, or a squeeze release.

Staying in a trend:
• Dashed orange (hidden) divergences are your "hold" signal — they say the pullback is healthy and the trend should continue. Use them to avoid exiting good trades too early.

Managing risk / patience:
• An orange squeeze dot says "wait" — volatility is low and a move is building; don't force trades into the coil.
• A dim confluence band says momentum lacks volume backing — treat that signal with caution.

The goal is not to act on any single marker, but to wait for agreement. The capitulation filter and confluence logic are specifically built to keep you out of low-quality setups.

CUSTOMIZATION

Everything is organized into clear, labeled settings groups:
• Theme — 10 ready-made color schemes (Neon Citrus, Cyber Neon, Matrix, Synthwave, Ice & Fire, Electric, Quantum, Hologram, Classic) plus a fully Custom palette.
• Wave — calculation method, price source, lengths, smoothing, and sensitivity.
• Confluence, Reversal, Squeeze, Capitulation, Divergence — each layer can be tuned or toggled independently, so you can run the full system or just the pieces you want.
• Custom Theme — set your own colors for every element.

Sensible defaults are tuned for responsive, low-noise timing out of the box — load it and it works, then refine to taste.

WHO IT'S FOR

• Swing and intraday traders who want momentum, volume, volatility, and divergence confirmation in one place.

• Reversal and breakout traders — the capitulation filter and squeeze layer are built for exactly these styles.

• Anyone tired of chart clutter — it replaces several stacked indicators with one coherent, color-coded read.

It is instrument- and timeframe-agnostic — usable on stocks, futures, indices, and crypto across any timeframe.

Note on volume: the money-flow confluence and volume-based reversal signals rely on real volume data. On instruments without true volume (e.g., spot forex), those specific layers are less meaningful — the momentum wave, squeeze, and divergence layers still work fine.

WHY IT HELPS YOU MAKE BETTER DECISIONS

• Fewer, better signals. The capitulation filter and confluence logic are designed to suppress low-quality triggers and highlight the setups where multiple forces align.

• One glance, full context. Direction, strength, agreement, exhaustion, volatility regime, and structure — without flipping between five indicators.

• Built-in confirmation. Money flow and divergence cross-checks are baked in, so you're not eyeballing confirmation manually.• Clear visual language. Color = direction, brightness = agreement, line style = reversal vs. continuation, dot color = volatility regime. Once you learn the legend, the chart reads itself.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

Micah's Oscillator is a technical-analysis and decision-support tool — not financial advice, and not a guaranteed or automated trading system. No indicator can predict future price movement or guarantee profits, and past behavior does not assure future results. All signals are probabilistic aids meant to be combined with your own analysis, market context, and disciplined risk management (position sizing, stops). Trading involves substantial risk of loss.
