Drawing tools on mobile devices are optimized for touch interaction and do not replicate mouse behavior. Instead, a dedicated interaction model is used to ensure precision and usability on smaller screens.

Touchpad Mode

A virtual touchpad control appears over the chart when working with drawing tools.
  • Allows precise cursor control without covering key points with your finger
  • Helps accurately place and edit geometry
  • Automatically activates when drawing starts or when entering edit mode
When a drawing tool is selected:
  • The cursor is positioned in the center of the screen
  • The touchpad is enabled automatically

Touchpad Interactions

The touchpad translates gestures into familiar desktop actions:
  • Move finger → Move cursor
  • Tap → Place a point (left click)
  • Long tap → Cancel action (right click)
  • Double tap → Complete drawing

Editing Geometry

When interacting with existing drawings:
  • Increased selection radius makes it easier to select objects and points
  • Long tap on a point → Enters edit mode and activates the touchpad
  • Tap and drag immediately → Moves the point without delay (no long tap required)
This dual interaction model allows both:
  • Quick adjustments (drag instantly)
  • Precise edits (via touchpad mode)
