The Watchlist widget helps you track and monitor multiple trading instruments in one place. Add unlimited watchlist widgets to your workspace, each capable of tracking up to 1,000 trading instruments (symbols).

Creating a Watchlist

  1. Drag the Watchlist widget from Widget Hub to your workspace
  2. Add instruments directly to the watchlist:
    • Hover over the watchlist area
    • Click the add instrument icon that appears
    • Use the search window to find and select multiple instruments at once
  1. You can add symbols to the watchlist through the Stock Screener. Learn more about Stock Screener →
  2. You can also add the currently active symbol in a chart to the watchlist using the hotkey Alt + W.

Watchlist Toolbar

Two buttons sit in the watchlist toolbar:
  • Add Symbol — opens search so you can add an instrument to the list.
  • Add Alert — creates alerts for the symbols you selected, or for every symbol in the watchlist when nothing is selected. One alert is created per symbol, sharing the condition you set once. See Alerts.
Narrow the widget and the labels collapse: the buttons keep their icons and name themselves in a tooltip.

Watchlist Navigation

Access your watchlists through the top-left dropdown menu, organized in three categories:
  • Recent: Recently viewed watchlists
  • My Watchlists: Your custom watchlists
  • Built-in: TakeProfit’s pre-made watchlists

Watchlist Management

Manage your watchlists by clicking the menu icon to:
  • Rename watchlists
  • Duplicate watchlists
  • Delete watchlists
Built-in watchlists can only be duplicated to My Watchlists

Managing Watchlists with AI

You do not have to keep a list up to date by hand. The assistant can read a watchlist and edit it for you in two places: Both reach the same lists as the widget, so a change made in the conversation shows up in your workspace. What you can ask for:
  • Read a list — the instruments in it, with live quotes for all of them at once, so “which of my names are up today” is one question rather than twenty.
  • Create a list — with a title and, if you want, the instruments already in it.
  • Add and remove instruments — including “swap X for Y” in a single step.
  • Delete a list — the assistant asks you to confirm the exact title first, because this cannot be undone.
Prompts that work:
An instrument is identified by its ticker and its exchange, so the assistant resolves the pair before writing anything. If a name ends up on a different venue than you asked for, it tells you which one. The assistant sees only My Watchlists — built-in lists are not exposed to it, so duplicate one first if you want to work with it. Renaming a list is not something the assistant can do; use the widget menu.

These shortcuts make it significantly easier to manage multiple instruments simultaneously, whether you’re adding multiple stocks to a watchlist or performing batch operations on screener results.
