# Drawing Tools

> Every drawing tool on the TakeProfit chart, grouped by the job it does: trend lines, Fibonacci, patterns, trade plans, shapes, and notes, plus snapping, sync, and shortcuts.

## How drawing works

The same four moves apply to almost every tool. Each step links to the details.

## Where a drawing shows up

Every drawing has a sync level that decides which charts display it. Set it in the drawing's settings or in the [Object Tree](/docs/guide/platform/chart-widget/Object-tree).

| Sync level | The drawing appears on |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Local** (default) | Only the chart you drew it on |
| **Channel** | Every chart in the same [linked channel](/docs/guide/getting-started/Widget-Hub#widget-linking) |
| **Workspace** | Every chart in the current workspace |
| **Global** | Every chart in every workspace |

Drawings also hold their place across timeframes: a level drawn on 1H sits at the same price on the daily. A chart you forked into a workspace as an unlinked widget counts as a separate chart, so raise the sync level if a Local drawing should appear there too.

## Shortcuts worth learning

| Tool | Shortcut | Action | Shortcut |
| --------------------- | ------------------- | ------------------------ | ---------------------------- |
| Line | **Alt + T** | Measure | **Shift + M** |
| Horizontal line | **Alt + H** | Hide all drawings | **Cmd/Ctrl + H** |
| Parallel channel | **Alt + Shift + C** | Lock or unlock a drawing | **Cmd/Ctrl + L** |
| Fibonacci retracement | **Alt + F** | Clone a drawing | **Cmd/Ctrl + drag** |
| Long & Short position | **Alt + L** | Strong magnet | Hold **Cmd/Ctrl** |
| Text | **Alt + Shift + T** | Snap to 45° and 90° | Hold **Shift** while drawing |

[All shortcuts](/docs/guide/platform/chart-widget/Drawing-Tools-Keybord-Shortcuts), grouped by tool.

## Good to know

* **Long & Short is a plan, not an order.** It simulates the entry, Take Profit, Stop Loss, and position size, but places nothing. To send a real order with TP/SL, see [Trading from the Chart](/docs/guide/trading/chart-trading).
* **Hiding isn't deleting.** **Cmd/Ctrl + H** hides every drawing and keeps your analysis intact.
* **Delete all drawings includes locked ones.** The option under the trash icon clears everything at once; **Ctrl + Z** brings it back.
* **Text lives inside drawings too.** Lines, circles, and rectangles carry a text box you can edit from the settings panel.
* **On a phone, drawing uses touchpad mode** instead of copying mouse behavior. See [Drawing Tools on Mobile](/docs/guide/platform/chart-widget/drawing-tools-mobile).
