# Chart Intervals and Timeframes

TakeProfit doesn't rely on static, pre-generated candle data. Instead, it uses a dynamic time series engine built in-house. Every interval — whether it's a standard time preset, a custom time configuration, or a transaction-based tick interval — is generated on the fly using raw market data.

Calculated precisely in real time and powered by TakeProfit's own infrastructure, this approach means you're not limited to fixed presets.

## Time-Based Timeframes

By default, the platform supports standard time intervals:

* Seconds: 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 30, 45
* Minutes: 1, 3, 5, 15, 30, 45
* Hours: 1, 2, 3, 4
* Days: 1 Day, 1 Week, 1 Month

You can also define custom timeframes down to the second or minute. Whether you're scalping on a 7-minute chart or swing trading with 3-hour setups, TakeProfit builds these dynamically from raw quote data.

## Tick-Based Intervals

Tick charts construct bars based on the precise number of successive transactions rather than elapsed time. Because each bar closes after a fixed number of transactions, activity sets the pace — bars form faster when the market is busy and slower when it's quiet, filtering out the dead time that fixed-time charts still plot.

The availability tiers for tick configurations are structured as follows:

* **1–49 ticks:** Available on the free plan, across all supported market data streams.
* **50–1,000 ticks:** Selectable in steps of 50. Currently supported on Binance, Bybit, Pepperstone, and Exness charts.

## Favorites

Mark any timeframe or tick interval with a star to pin it to your chart's top bar for quick access. This keeps your most-used configurations one click away.

## Historical Data Depth

All intervals provide maximum historical depth based on symbol data availability.

* Daily and higher timeframes offer the longest historical coverage.
* Intraday timeframes (seconds, minutes) and tick-based intervals may have duration limits depending on the specific asset class and provider.

The chart automatically adjusts to load the deepest available history for your selected interval.
